It’s relatively early days for biogas in New Zealand but one of Prime Pump’s leading brands has been at the forefront. For more than 25 years German designed and manufactured WANGEN has been a global pumping technology leader in the field of anaerobic digestion the process which produces biogas.
They are proud to have been one of the sponsors of the World Biogas Report issued by the World Biogas Association (WBA) in 2019. This report aims to highlight the potential of anaerobic digestion as a technology to generate renewable energy, abate greenhouse gas emissions and recover nutrients, as well as the role it can play in meeting the climate change targets under the Paris Agreement. The Biogas industry is already leading in reducing greenhouse gas emissions by capturing the methane that would otherwise have entered the atmosphere from rotting food waste, sewage, farm wastes and agri-industrial process wastes.
